IoTech’s Smart Weather Station Transforms Environmental Monitoring at Bournemouth Beach

Weather Station
Bournemouth, UK – IoTech has launched the UK’s first 9-in-1 smart weather station at Boscombe Seafront, a key part of BCP Council’s “Smart Place” initiative. This advanced technology, using LoRaWAN for long-distance data transmission, is integral to the “Bathing Water Quality” project, which monitors water quality and serves as a model for coastal councils nationwide.
Improving Water Quality at Boscombe Beach
Boscombe Beach, a popular spot for locals and tourists, now benefits from real-time environmental data, thanks to IoTech’s weather station. This technology monitors factors like air quality, rainfall, and wind speed, helping detect pollutants and ensuring water quality remains high, protecting public health.

Key Features and Impact
IoTech’s 9-in-1 sensor measures air temperature, humidity, pressure, light, rainfall, pollution, PM2.5, PM10, wind speed, and direction. This data supports the AI/ML system for real-time water quality monitoring funded by the Towns Fund and developed by UnifAI Technology. An online dashboard and app will make this information accessible to the public, enabling informed decisions about water safety.
